Son Of Dave Old Times Were Good Times

Canadian funky blues man – and former Crash Test Dummie - Son Of Dave, aka Benjamin Darvill, is back with 'Old Times Were Good Times’, the first single from his new album '03’. This harmonica wielding one-man-band expands to include guitar and backing singers on this head bobbing, toe-tapping blues track.

Back in 2006, Son Of Dave became the darling of the hip music tastemakers for his unique approach to bringing, as he says, 'the Blues into the 21st Century.' Although this track is interesting, with its funky beat and classic blues guitar hooks, 'Old Times Were Good Times’ heads down the chart sensible mainstream path unlike his previous album.

His cult status will likely remain intact though. Compared to all the other styles of pop we have to endure, perhaps mainstream blues isn’t such a bad thing.
